Humira side effects will be described in the following article. This medication is used in treating psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and ankylosing spondylitis. This medication can be combined with other medications, but it is also used alone in some cases. Your doctor will decide about this.

This medication is given under the skin. The dose is 40 mg for adult patients (it is taken every other week). However, in some cases, this medication is administered weekly.

You should tell your doctor about other medications you use (if you use any), because Humira can interact with some of them. For example, infections can occur if Humira is used with Kineret.

If you are pregnant, you should not use this medication. We still do not know enough about its effects on pregnant women.

If you are a breast-feeding mother, do not use this medication.

Humira Side Effects

Side effects of Humira include:

● Nausea
● Headache
● Stomach upset
● Rash
● Some minor infections are possible and these usually occur in the urinary tract, sinuses and respiratory tract. This happens because Humira can suppress the immune system.
● Serious infections are also possible, including sepsis, fungal infections and tuberculosis.

● People who have active infections must not use this medication. If you suffer from any disease that affects nervous system, you should not take this medication.

● We still do not know if this medication is related to risk of cancer in patients who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis.

● This medication can also lead to decrease in red blood cells.

● Humira can affect your immune system. It can reduce the ability of your immune system to deal with infections. If you are using any medications that suppress your immunity, you will be at higher risk of getting serious infections, so you should not use Humira in combination with such medications.

● Before taking Humira, you must talk to your doctor about this medication and other medications you use.

● If you experience symptoms like swollen abdomen, pain in the abdomen, weight loss, night sweats or fever, contact your doctor right away.

● As with any other medication, adverse reactions are possible with Humira. If you have ever had any allergy to medications, you must mention that to your doctor before you start using this medication. If you experience any sign of allergy, contact your doctor right away.
