Side Effects of Reglan

Allergic reaction is possible with this medication. If you have ever had any kind of allergy to medications, you must tell your doctor about it before you start using Reglan. The most common symptoms of allergy include:

● Swelling of face
● Swelling of tongue
● Swelling of lips
● Swelling of throat
● Hives
● Skin rash
● Difficulty breathing

If you experience any of the symptoms mentioned above, call your doctor immediately.

Other side effects of Reglan include:

● Tremors
● Muscle movements (in the jaw, tongue, eyes and neck)
● Stiff muscles
● Sweating
● High fever
● Rapid heartbeat
● Confusion
● Depression
● Suicidal thoughts
● Anxiety
● Hallucinations
● Restlessness
● Fluid retention
● Swelling
● Yellowing of eyes or skin
● Convulsions

The side effects mentioned above are considered serious. If you experience any of these side effects, call your doctor immediately.

Reglan can also cause other side effects, but these are considered less serious:

● Drowsiness
● Dizziness
● Headaches
● Tiredness
● Insomnia
● Diarrhea
● Nausea
● Vomiting
● Breast tenderness
● Menstrual cycle changes

If you have any bleeding in your intestines, or you suffer from epilepsy (or similar disorders), you should not take this medication.

If you suffer from adrenal gland tumor, you must not use Reglan.

Before you take this mediation, you have to tell your doctor about any other problems you have, such as liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes, congestive heart failure, or depression.

Do not take this medication with alcohol.

If you use any other medication, don’t forget to mention that to your doctor, before you take Reglan. If you use herbal remedies or vitamin supplement, you must tell your doctor about it before you start using Reglan.

If you are pregnant, do not use Reglan without talking to your doctor first.

Never change the dosage on your own. Long-term use can lead to side effects like uncontrollable muscle movements or tremors. Withdrawal symptoms can occur after ending the therapy. These symptoms usually include dizziness, headaches and nervousness.
